As leader of the Collins Investment Group, Bob Collins has maintained a reputation for integrity and insightful investment advice throughout more than three decades in the financial services industry. He has built a team that is dedicated to earning each client’s trust by providing sound, personalized advice with the highest level of professionalism.
Mr. Collins is deeply committed to acting in his clients’ best interests and has received numerous awards for his contributions to the brokerage industry and the metropolitan D.C. community. In 2003, he was named to the Research Magazine Advisor Hall of Fame, which recognizes financial advisors nationwide.1 The Financial Times recognized Bob as one of the “Top 400 Financial Advisors”2 in the country in 2013 and 2017 and Barron’s Magazine has ranked Bob among their Top Advisors3 for nine consecutive years. Top 1000 from 2009-2013 and Top 1200 from 2014-2017.
As an independent business owner within the Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network, Mr. Collins combines his belief in personal excellence with the resources of a large financial institution. He is the Collins Investment Group’s Managing Director. Prior to founding his own business, Mr. Collins spent more than a decade as a Managing Director – Investments within Wells Fargo Advisors. During this time, he received their Professional Excellence Award and was named a Premier Advisor. The Premier Advisors designation is held by a select group of Financial Advisors within Wells Fargo Advisors as measured by business production, completion of educational components and professionalism. As a PIM Portfolio Manager, Mr. Collins is among the select financial advisors who are entrusted to manage client portfolios with discretionary authority through the Private Investment Management program.4
Mr. Collins believes in the importance of giving back to the community. He is a supporter of the US Chess Center of Washington, DC and Adoptions Together in Montgomery County, MD. He is a member of Our Lady of the Visitation Parish and a former treasurer and Board Member of The Barnesville School. Bob and his wife Beth live in Darnestown, MD.
